When flying to Airlie Beach it is a lot cheaper and easier to fly directly to Whitsunday’s Airport (Proserpine). When you fly to Hamilton Island you still need to get the ferry from Hamilton Island to Shute Habour and then catch a local bus to Airlie Beach.
