Relaxing on the beach

Probably the Gold Coast's biggest attraction. The beaches are very clean, and kept that way with a daily grooming. Gold Coast has a great stretch of beaches starting from Coolangatta to South Straddie. Think sparkling white sands stretching on and on, turquoise/blue water that meets the horizon. Sun, surf and sand - ahhh, that’s Australia. With fantastic weather all year-round, you can almost always enjoy a Gold Coast beach. There you will also see the famous Aussie lifeguards on duty. Make sure you swim between the flags and don't forget the sunscreen.
The beaches are world renowned for their beauty, cleanliness and fine surfing conditions Surfing is a major sport on the Gold Coast, attracting some of the world's best competitors. Duranbah, Burleigh Point, Kirra and South Stradbroke are just four of the many great surfing spots.
