Koala Beach Resort Hervey Bay – 408 Esplanade Torquay – could not get a better location- very good hostel with swimming pool- run self drive tours of Fraser Island from their hostel. Have a excellent bar/nightclub where most tours seem to go as a group after their Fraser adventure.

Fraser Roving Backpackers – 412 The Esplanade Torquay – Could not get a better location – this hostel have the most friendliest staff on the planet – They run the cheapest self drive tour – Swimming pool – kitchen facilities – rooms are not air conditioned and can be a little hot in middle of summer – a great little outdoor bar with well price drinks.

Beaches Backpackers Resort Hervey Bay – 195 Torquay Terrace – Very good hostel – Swimming pool – Kitchen facilities – a little bit off the Main esplanade but not too bad (4mins walk) – they run a excellent self drive tour and they have a permanent base camp on Fraser Island which is the only self drive tour to have this – they also have a well priced restaurant and a good bar that fires up most nights when groups return from their tour.

The Woolshed Backpackers – 181 Touquay Road – very clean – very quiet backpackers – a little off the main area of the esplanade (5 mins walk) – TV and Air conditioning and DVD player in most rooms.
