Favourite Restaurants of the LocalsBlazing Saddles Bar and Grill – 140 Freshwater Road – ph 4125 5466 – is the best steak house in town – very good food – Pasta and chicken dishes between $15 - $20 – Seafood and steak $20-$30 – highly recommended – lunch prices are even cheaper. Hoolihans Irish Pub – 382 esplanade – 4194 0099 – Very good meals – like all Irish pubs, has great atmosphere – Irish meals from $12 and most meals around the $14-$16 mark. 2 meals for the price of 1 from 9pm to 10pm. www.hoolihansherveybay.com Black Dog Café - 381 Esplanade – 4124 3177 – great little café – always busy – good service – little bit of a alternative place – meals from $12-$17. The next 2 restaurants are a little for the Hervey Bay esplanade area. They are situated at the Hervey Bay Marina and you will need to drive a car or catch the bus which leaves every hour. This two restaurant are highly recommended and have the best views looking over the harbor. Great to go late afternoon during the whale season, while watching all the boats returning for the day. Café Balaena – Hervey Bay Marina – 4125 4799 – very busy café with great service and a great view and the harbour – lunches from $12-$16 and dinners from $18-$28. The Deck - Hervery Bay Marina – 4125 1155 – Hervey Bay’s premier seafood restaurant – all you can eat seafood and roast meats for $45. Dinner starts at 5.30pm. They also have a all you can eat buffet roast meats for $16.90 fri,sat,sun and also during busy times like school holidays and Christmas/Easter.
