Cheap Call Phone Cards
Wishing to make a call back home. Think it will cost you a arm and a leg. Well wrong, as long as you ring a landline phone eg (home phone). Daybreak have an excellent pre paid product which charges 3.5 cents a minute to ring most home phones in Europe, America, Canada and some parts of Asia. All you do is by a pre paid Daybreak card($10,$20),($50).
Then you go to your local telephone at your home or on the street corner, ring the local number on the card, enter the pin number that is on the card and then ring the number you wish to call. Remember to use 0011 at the start, then drop the first 0 in the number you are about to call, when calling out from any telephone in Australia. It really is that easy and that affordable.
There are a lot of overseas calling cards on the market but Daybreak has been around for many years. Are very reliable, do not drop out half way through a call and do not have a connection fee. Some cards may advertise cheaper but if you read the fine print they will have a connection fee or bill in 5 minute blocks. Daybreak cards can be topped up over the internet and you can also check on the internet to see where, when and how much each call cost.
Another way to make cheap calls back home is by using a product called Skype. With Skype you make your phone calls from the internet to any phone in the world. All you need is a computer hooked up to the internet, some earphones and a microphone. Most internet cafe throughout the world are setup for skype these days. The faster the internet connection the better the quality but if the connection is ADSL then the quality will be perfect. You just need to buy some skype credits, which is done through their website and away you go. The rates are similar to the phone cards but the best thing about skype is you can use it from any country in the world which is great if you are travelling to other countries before coming to Australia. All you need is to be hooked up to the internet. |
