White Water Rafting

One of the most popular tours in cairns. There are a few different white water rafting tours available but the one that we recommend the most is the Xtreme Rafting tour on the mighty Tully River. The upper Tully is regarded as the best section of commercial white water in Australia. This area boasts constant grade 3-4 rapids.

There are many companies that raft this area of the river but the difference with Xtreme is they only travel the river with 4 rafts which means more excitement, no waiting for other boats, travel down the rapids quicker, stopping at certain parts of the river for a swim and sightsee. You pay an extra $20 for this tour but it is $20 well spend as you are not waiting around for the other boats to catch up. You get off early before all the other tours and you fly down the rapids, waiting for no one.

Costs $175 plus $25 government taxes and water release fee. Try to book in advance because with the small groups, availability can be tight.
