The Daintree Forest Cape Tribulation

The Daintree Cape Tribulation coast is where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rainforest meet, the only place on earth where two World Heritage areas exist side by side. The Daintree is a 135-million year old rainforest which is the most ancient and primitive in the world.  Enjoy the magnificent scenery and ideal habitat for bird watching and crocodile spotting.

The Daintree Rainforest contains 30% of frog, marsupial and reptile species in Australia, and 65% of Australia's bat and butterfly species. 20% of bird species in the country can be found in this area. And it all lives in an area that takes up 0.2% of the landmass of Australia.

It is well worth spending the night at Cape Tribulation and PK's Jungle Village has excellent hostel/hotel accommodation and can be booked through the hostel section on this website.
