Cairns has one of the most thriving nightlife’s of any City in Australia. It really caters for the backpacker/budget traveler market. If you’re smart Cairns can be a very cheap night out.

 

Real Backpackers pub. They also do cheap feeds to backpackers that buy tours from certain travel agents. Cheap drinks. Dancing on the tables. Letting loose. This is the Woolshed. The place to meet other backpackers, from all over the world. They have drink specials like 5 drinks for $12 and 2 for 1 beer and basic spirits and you can buy a jug(1.125L) of beer for $9 any time of the day or night. Visit the place to see which night has the special to suit you. A little tip is that sometimes they change $12 to get in but you get 5 free drinks. Some nights you can buy 2 or 3 of these card so you will have cheap drinks all night but you must enter before midnight but the drink last all night.     

 

The biggest and most happening place in Cairns and why wouldn’t it be with over 700 backpackers staying there. This establishment has to be seen to be believed. This place is also very popular with the locals.

 

This is a great Irish Pub. Live bands. Great music. Little bit of a older crowd and this is the place to go to drink with the locals. They run a good pub crawl on a Friday night called the Frog and Toad. It cost $15 which gets you free entry into 5 pubs. They give you a wrist band and you get drink specials at all 5 pubs, free drinks on entry at some pubs, lots of free pizza and prizes up for grabs. It starts at 8pm but get there early as your wrist band gets you $7 jugs of beer. You definitely get your $15 worth.

 

Really good Irish pub. This place gets really full from 5-7 on Friday and Sunday because it has a 2 for 1 Special. Great place for a Sunday session. Has excellent bands.

 

This is a pub crawl that usually attract 150 people. You pay $15 and then you start a pub crawl to all different pubs in Cairns receiving free entry, cheap and free drinks, pizza, games and lots more. Very easy way to meet other backpackers. Operates every Saturday night.
