Airport transfers in Cairns are run by Sun Palm Transport. Transfers run very regularly. A transfer to the city centre is $10 and that is door to door service. The Cairns airport is situated very close to the city area and a Taxi costs about $18. So if you are with a fellow traveler or you see another backpacker then it maybe wise to share a taxi from out side the terminal. You can fit 4-5 people in a taxi. Not only can this save you money but it could also save you time as transfers stop off at each hotel/hostel and if your accommodation is the last stop, this can sometimes be timely.
